In Cluse (Haute-Savoie), companies work more for the automobile. Since the Covid-19 health crisis, a manufacturer of mechanical parts has launched into the production of surgical masks. Richard Blond, the boss, is quite proud of it. Last March, when the country was in dire need of masks, he did not hesitate for long and invested ten million euros, including two million in state aid, to embark on this new activity.

Ten million masks produced per week

We decided to buy machines, to have them come quickly to improve them and industrialize them to put them into production.“, Says Richard Blond. Today, the company manufactures ten million masks per week. So she pushed her old machines to install the new ones. It also hired 160 people. “With confinement, everything was closed. Only this one opened, so it was an opportunity“, Explains a newly recruited employee.
