Industry: factories hunt down waste

Industry and construction are the biggest CO2 emitting sectors. More and more companies are committing to reducing their energy consumption.

Industry: factories hunt down waste

Since 2014, a company specializing in garden furniture in Anneyron (Drôme) has invested 1 million euros in the plant every year. With one imperative: reduce its impact on the environment. The cutting of tubes, the first stage of production, thus emits little waste, which will be recycled. The water will be systematically reprocessed. In addition, the new painting process ensured that nothing was lost of the powder sprayed. “Anything that is not recoverable is reprocessed and sent for recycling to our supplier. We do not return far from seven tons per year of powder which is reused ”, explains Victor Neve, industrialization manager.

Sales are on the rise

Step by step, the entire production chain is called into question. The objective is also to train suppliers in the process: they are also chosen within a radius of 150 km, in order to limit the carbon footprint. The company promotes this ecological balance to its customers: since 2014, sales have increased by 30%.
