The newspaper “Direct matin” publishes this Tuesday March 31 a CSA poll on the preferred ecological gestures of the French. Some habits are well established, others are more difficult to adopt.
The first eco-citizen gesture of the French is the reusable bag, which has massively become commonplace. 76% of those polled by the CSA institute say they “always or almost” use them to do their shopping. Sorting household waste has also become a habit: 67% of French people say they do it. 72% of people questioned say that they turn off the light when they leave a room “almost all the time”. More than two-thirds of French people also think of not letting the water run while brushing their teeth.
Transport remains a weak point
When they move, the French become much less eco-citizens. Only 23% of them say they use a bicycle, an electric car or get around on foot or by public transport. The same goes for organic products: only 31% of French people say they consume it “all the time” or “often”.
