Each year, nearly 100,000 city dwellers leave the city to settle in the countryside. Saint-Emilion (Gironde) is the new Eldorado of Fabrice and Marie who came to settle in the Paris region to change their life, far from the stress of the capital and its public transport. “To find here a more pleasant rhythm of life with people who are more sympathetic”, explains Fabrice Granger. Marie Gaudet is 26 years old, she got an internship at the château of a grand cru in the region. She quickly forgot about her old job as an office worker. “In Paris, it was very administrative. Here, I am really producing a tourist experience, I am living it with the customers, that is changing ”, comments the young woman.
Fabrice Granger is a video game designer. He is currently working on a joint project with former Parisian collaborators, who have also come to settle in the sector. “In the choices which made Bordeaux interesting, it is indeed one hour from the ocean, it is two to three hours from the mountain and the region is in total geographical and economic upheaval”, explains one of them. From now on, Marie and Fabrice want to become owners in the region, they fell in love with its landscapes.
