The first assessment of this reform of services has been delivered. France 2 takes stock of the effects of the new device.
For 10 months, the wealthiest families have seen their family allowances decrease. In detail, 455,100 households recorded a drop in their aid after the entry into force of the reform. The highest incomes have even experienced declines of 50 to 75%. At the Fourtines, mister is a computer engineer and madame is executive secretary. With 6,000 euros of household income per month, they lost half of their help, or 600 euros per year. “That it be done gradually, we would understand, but all of a sudden, it is still a fairly large sum”, estimates Agnès Fourtine at the microphone of France 2.
With this reform, a family with two children and 6000 euros of income per month loses 776 euros per year. For a family with three children and 8,500 euros of monthly wages, the household records a decrease of 2,655 euros per year. The State estimates that it will save 800 million euros per year through this overhaul of the family allowance system.
